Our Client has a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer. This is a contract position, starting as soon as possible, based in London and Iraq.
As Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Accountable to the Engineering Manager for the technical direction and assurance of electrical issues.
Be the programme point of contact for all electrical issues including:
Liaison with the project discipline engineers (process, drilling engineers), operations engineers to establish a safe, integrated design is achieved.
Support of Oil & Gas Operator and contractor assurance processes (Engineering Design Reviews, stage gate reviews etc).
Review (and approval of key) contractor and vendor design documents.
Develop site technical practices where required.
Support for project planning, execution and commissioning activities.
Equipment OEM reviews.
Knowledge and experience of the following in a petrochemical environment required:
Diesel power generation equipment and power system design.
Power system studies – load flows, fault and motor starting studies.
Electrical protection systems and co-ordination.
The selection, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.
Electrical equipment (IEC) – HV/LV switchgear and rotating machinery.
Integration of electrical equipment and systems in a brownfield environment.
Core Competencies:

Power Systems Analysis.
Power System Protection and Co-ordination.
Distribution Systems (Electrical).
Operations and maintenance of Electrical Equipment.
Responsible for and involved in system designs for new projects and for extensions to existing projects.
Understands the principal design parameters and limits of equipment and advises on economic aspects.
Advises on safety systems and safe systems of work.
The salary for this role is negotiable.
