Our client is a global leader in engineering, construction, and project management. With 40 offices worldwide and projects in nearly 50 nations, they have amassed a diverse portfolio encompassing energy, transportation, communications, mining, oil and gas, and government services.
They are now seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on a major new city development in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a significant level of construction experience including field mechanical engineering experience in installation, testing and commissioning of rotating equipment and auxiliary systems, in particular pumps and pipe work, chemical/chlorination system, tank fabrication, and installation of mechanical & electrical equipment for pumps stations. Additional requirements include experience in steel welding and knowledge of welding testing procedure. Applicants must be familiar with Bechtel or similar codes and safety procedures for start up and commissioning, as well as familiar with MS Word and Excel.
The successful applicant will lead construction engineers in a broad range of work within the mechanical engineering discipline for a particular area of the project. They will provide engineering assistance to superintendents; direct assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules; verify materials, equipment, and quality; and assure results meet design requirements.
The role will involve exposure to a range of projects from small to large works and duties will include independently performing assigned activities in mechanical engineering, interfacing with other disciplines in all areas of the jobsite, as well as proving functions as a lead mechanical engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the jobsite.
