Reports to: Senior Project Engineer
Work Locations: Based in Atyrau on a Residential assignment
Purpose:
• To provide control specialist support to various phase of the project design and implementation;
• To provide the Company acceptance of the work completed by Contractors during detailed design, manufacturing and configuration, Factory Acceptance Tests, System Integration Tests, and the Site Acceptance Test. Assist with the systems Pre-commissioning activities as required on site.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
The job holder is responsible for:
• Oversight of the design, specification and services related to the Integrated Control and Safety System and other control systems as required;
• Review and Approve critical design documentation produced by SCADA Contractor;
• Ensure quality of responses to the Company’s standards, and ensure turnaround time is within schedule;
• Reports to the ICSS / SCADA Project Engineer;
• Assist ICSS / SCADA Project Engineer to review changes proposed to the overall design, and their impact on the ICSS design, schedule and budget.
• Report regularly to the ICSS / SCADA Project Engineer. Interface with the Contractor ECMT Discipline and Project Engineers concerning issues related to the control systems. Also interface with the Contractor through the ECMT;
• Work under the Company’s Execution Engineering Manager for day to day activities ensuring compliance with the overall design and schedule.
HSE Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate a positive and pro-active commitment to HSE through the personal application of safety critical behaviors;
• Compliance with Republic of Kazakhstan Statutory HSE Regulations, Codes and Standards;
• Applying the Company’s HSE Policies & Management System Requirements;
• Supporting/ Participating in Emergency Drills and Exercises as required;
• Reporting all Accidents/ Incidents and Unsafe Acts/ Conditions in a timely manner.

Desired Skills/Experience: • Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years related experience. At this level, individuals will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically.
• Requires the use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of the field and related disciplines.
• May be responsible for leadership of some areas of the project and will be accountable for performance and adherence to budget and schedule within these areas. Incumbents at this level will usually hold a certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer.
Required Qualifications: Qualifications & Experience:
• Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations.
• Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice.
Desired Qualifications: Required Competencies:
The job holder must have proven:
• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Control and Safety Systems.
• Ability to resolve highly complex technical issues involving several parties in a professional manner.
• High competency in database development including MS Excel, MS Access and Oracle.
• Very good oral and written communication skills.
• Capable of giving clear instructions and following up their implementation.
• Ability to think independently while following established project guidelines.
• Ability and willingness to work within an extended team atmosphere.
• An understanding of RoK Regulatory approval and Licensing procedures is preferred
• Previous work experience in Kazakhstan/Russia would be an advantage
