Client located in Columbus, IN is actively looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a 6+ month contract assignment to lead Noise and Durability tests for Diesel engine systems and components. No per diem!
Responsibilities
•Provide engine dyno and shaker test coordination, planning, documentation, problem solving, and results presentation
•Perform vibration and strain testing for the purpose of evaluating component durability and reliability
•Lead Noise and Vibration (NVH) tests on Engine radiated noise evaluation and Vehicle drive-by testing
•Manage shaker test schedule for R&T Applied Mechanics and Fatigue testing to evaluate strength of components
•Develop and implement effective test plans and direct technicians in the execution of project work
•Use of noise, vibration and strain theory to provide technical support for product engineering customers
Requirements
•BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, with concentration on noise,vibration and/or applied mechanics
•Experience with Vibration Theory, Modal Analysis, Operation Deflection Shape Analysis, Fatigue Theory, Digital Signal Processing, and/or Finite Element Analysis (e.g., ANSYS)
•Noise & Vibration (NVH) measurement experience
•Knowledge of electrodynamic shaker rigs
•Diesel engine knowledge and analytical vibration experience
