Electrical Commissioning Engineer – experience of power generation/utilities – experience of electrical generators, converters, transformers, switchboards, subsea cables and onshore substations – to test, install and commission wave energy conversion and power transmission products – based Warwick but may need to work in Scotland at some point – salary c25 per hour – 3 month contract
We are looking for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to take responsibility for the testing, installation and commissioning of wave energy conversion and power transmission products as well as any other ‘balance of plant’ equipment.
Candidates should be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline and have experience of power generation/utilities, electrical generators, converters, transformers, switchboards, subsea cables and onshore substations
Offshore experience is an advantage but not a requirement and renewable projects experience desirable
Experience of managing and delivering to tight deadlines will be required as will ensuring that all aspects of safety and environment have been considered
All electrical engineering candidates should have experience in the testing and commissioning of electrical products (preferably of a large/complex nature) and a good grounding in mechanical products such as welded steel structures
Knowledge of manufacture and/or assembly of technical products is required as is experience in hydraulics product system development and/or other power take-off systems desirable. You should be skilled in the use of completer base systems and tools
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Commissioning Engineer’s day to day duties will include:
* Testing and commissioning of products including power transmission products
* Supporting others on assembly and test
* Possible testing of prototype electrical and electromechanical systems
* Identifying test requirements and procedures
* Managing, building, testing, commissioning and maintenance of systems
* Producing technical documentation to verify design , build etc
